make a test. swich off the engine, windows down, let the car roll and just listen this incredible tyre sound... the worst tyres i had ever. (the noise starts at about 5km/hr).

The most expensive conti's I've ever purchased (x4) Ouch!! I've bought a lot of other conti's in the past. Inc Sportcontact & Uniroyal tyres. Ecocontact5 are noisy, very average grip levels in wet & dry conditions. Poor wear levels for a so called eco tyre :-( Neither do I like the feel of them during cornering. I will not buy these budget/mid range level tyres again. I really don't have anything positive to say about these tyres. Apart from when I'm going to change them. Buy another mid range tyre instead or even a budget & save money ;-)

Exceptional behaviour in wet .Good in dry conditions but not for extremely fast driving. Excellent breaking properties. Very high mileage!!
07.03.2022 from Patricia
Terrible grip especially on wet - went sliding on a roundabout with slow speed. Simply doesn’t grip on the road well. I have tried several tyres in my driving time but these sadly are one of the worst purchases I’ve made. I was hopeful as it’s Goodyear but it’s a huge disappointment. Don’t waste your money on this. The noise isn’t too bad, but fuel consumption is poor and so it’s the grip!
26.01.2022 from R
Nearly perfect road tyre in my opinion. I usually drive sensibly, but often "spirited" and found no major downsides, grips really well. ~2000 miles so far I don't see any wear at all (unlike the budget tyres I had before). The only drawback was going through puddles at speed, but I think that's more my car lacking a limited slip diff.
07.11.2021 from Krzys
I used to own Primacy 4's which I liked very much, but pricewise 4'were too expensive. I think Goodyear Efficient Grip 2 are very comfortable tyres. They produce less internal noise when compared to Primacy 4's. Also Goodyear Efficient Grip 2 are softer and less precise (just by marginal difference) than Primacy 4's. Overall I like Goodyear Efficient Grip 2 very much and I think these are safe, comfortable and well pierced premium tyres. I'll buy these tyres again for sure. I would say I should do around 45,000 km in this tyres (front axle) seeing current usage (1.3mm) after 8,500 km.

13.06.2025 from stevi
best tyres ever had them on Audi A3 TDI sport ,fiesta st .ford focus MK2,jaguar xj 3Ltdi best grip ever handles in wet like a great tyre does when dry grips so hard in the dry the engine struggles to go faster because of the grip tried all the named brands like Mitchellen ,toyos ,co rentals and the uni royals beat them ever time not just price but grip safety and handling too .never use any other tyre the 5s are better than the 3s but not by much . hard to improve on such a great tyre
02.11.2024 from A Pritchard
Great.
13.04.2024 from Geof Wassell
Driving within my own ability and the ability of the vehicle I choose to drive is what I do. The tyres on my car are part of the interface between driver and road. I prefer to drive with the tyres fully inflated in order to feel the feedback from the surface of the road through noise, suspension and steering, I ballance throttle and brake response with weather conditions, road conditions and temperature. Tyres with less grip just dictate that I should moderate speed and braking at an increased rate. Noisey tyres provide slightly better feedback than silent tyres. The road with current traffic congestion burden isnt the place for performance spirited driving but is the place where defensive driving must be used. I would describe my tyres as competent.

I have front set of 2 tires 1 year and around 20000km old, and rear set 6 months and around 10000km. Tyres are excellent for my car on dry and wet. There's not much snow in this part of England, but was some WET snow last winter and tyres were good on start and in curves but on braking just slide (wet snow i suppose). I have been on the road trip this summer 5000km+, and tyres aren't worn at all. Good grip in curves on motorway at high speed (up to 180 km/h) on dry and wet.

Very quiet tyres, very smooth comfort.
20.04.2022 from Irving Stewart
The MX5 Mk3 NC is generally regarded by enthusiasts as the worst handling of all the MX5's due to its extra height, weight, and suspension settings but I deliberately selected this particular version for its comfort, power folding roof, and pleasant ride. When first purchased the car was fitted with ridiculously wide [10"] rims shod with obscure American tyres. It handled like a pig, followed every white line, and a matchstick on the road felt like a small boulder. Fortunately I swapped the big wheels, with another enthusiast, and acquired a set of 16" Momo alloys. These wheels were shod with Falken tyres, two of which were almost new and two almost shot. The decision was whether to change tyre brand completely or see how the Falkens fared. The various MX5 Forums showed a wide range of differing views on the best tyres for my MX5, at hugely differing costs, so I decided as an experiment to stick with the with Falkens and subsequently fitted a new pair to the front. At this stage I should add that it has taken me three years to rebuild this MX5, it is probably my last car, and it is very rarely driven to its limits. Whilst I still enjoy a spirited drive around the enticing Welsh and Shropshire roads, and the occasional run to Essex and the South Coast, I gave up thrashing my cars when I retired from the circuits over 50 years ago! Today safety, comfort, and pleasure are my prioroties! Over three years the Falkens have performed well for "budget" tyres. In the dry they behave well, are quiet, and very predictable. In the wet they can be induced to loose grip [especially on the rear] but I have never had the front break away unexpectedly or in a dangerous manner. An over enthusiastic right foot will induce wheelspin when pulling away in the wet, even in town, but the Falkens soon regain traction. In the dry the rear can be induced to "hang out" but I have never had any major concerns about the car swapping ends. Some of the younger members of the MX5 fraternity have told me that [when run at higher pressure] the Falkens behave well on the track but wear quite quickly which is something I have not tried, and will not experience. Compared to the exhorbitant wear rate of far more expensive "leading" tyre brands experienced by my friends [some as low as 12,500miles per set] on far more recent premium cars, I am more than satisfield with the Fakens and will probably, eventually, replace them with the same brand.
02.03.2022 from Fi Hoang
Great tyres at a good price. Well Recommended.

On my second set of these tyres, excellent grip and handling. Good in the wet too
06.10.2023 from Victor
On wet roads, the cornering capability is reduced compared to Bridgestones, however these tyres cost 30% less. All in all, for mixed driving, it’s a great all rounder, especially since it’s very reasonably priced. A decent everyday tyre. We’ll see how long it lasts, but seems promising, so far. Noise level is quite low too.

Smooth driving. Lowered noise levels compared to other snow tyres purchased in the past. Good speed rating(driven through Germany on Autobahn) Good grip on wet roads/motorway

The tire behaves excellent on both dry and wet roads. Especially on snowy/icy roads it does its job really great. It's a truly price/performance tire and would definitely recommend to buyers.
03.12.2021 from Doogride
Noisy piece of crap. Above 110km/h changes your vehicle into vibrating boat you cannot steer safely on highway. First and last Goodride (Westlake) that I ever purchased. Avoid that chinese garbage!

In comparison to other Hankook tyre types i've used over the years these were terrible verging on dangerous in respect to grip whilst breaking in all conditions. I have removed these tyres and reverted to the part worns previously fitted. There is something very wrong with the compound of these tyres.

Grip always feels good, very impressed with how they deal with standing water on fast roads.

Fitted to a 1978 Dolomite Sprint for a European endurance run. Great grip and braking - very confident drive through the Alps and on some of those crazy European motorway interchanges with tight turns. Very pleased with these tyres and will busy again for this vehicle and the modern!

Steering and wet road handling improved since replacing the standard tyre fitment.
21.05.2019 from Jane
I bought these as they rated well performing across the board. Not top in anything but above everything that was top in at least one area. The wet grip and braking is fantastic. Performed well throughout the cold months but we had no snow this year to test them. On warm dry roads the compound or pattern does not allow for an aggressive driving style but I never intended to keep them on in the summer so this was irrelevant to me. They make a noise like driving through standing water in the wet which is strange at first but I wouldn't say generally they were any noisier than my Eagle asymmetric 2 that they replaced. Did everything I expected from them and will be re fitting them come the winter.

I have tried virtually every chinese built tyre over the years on my classic mini and they dont last more than 5000 miles. The rubber compound is too soft, I get through at least one set of tyres a year. They were cheap but are now getting more expensive. Tyres from mytyres are shipped from germany, not oxford, and mine took 6 weeks to arrive...

Been pleased with these Nexen tyres, perform well in snow and ice here in Scotland.
11.04.2022 from KS
Fuel economy and comfort seem fine, grip on wet roads is pretty terrible, wheelspin going uphill and lift-off oversteer are something I’ve never experienced in this car in 200km of ownership until I fitted these tyres. Will be going back to Blizzaks for winter.
29.04.2020 from Mark
We purchased these tyres for use in the ski season in the alps. They were excellent, the car gripped and stopped well. I never had to use snow chains. I would buy them again but I have no points of reference as to how they compare against other tyres.
10.05.2019 from Matt Henson
I was surprised how good these tyres are, winter tyres are never supreme performers in the wet and when they let go, you do notice! Tread ware is awesome, they are lasting a lot longer than summer tyres (perhaps because you can't push them as hard and a standard D5 can dump too much power on the front wheels) They are quiet but essentially they work well on snow and ice. Bought these tyres based purely on the price and rating - they were replacing some very long lived Avon ZV5 tyres which are no longer made and have been replaced with a lesser alternative - I had gotten 37k (miles) over 5 years out of those so they were very good value. The Rotallas were half the price of equivalent 'branded' tyres but with a C rating for fuel and B for Wet Grip so on paper they were better. In reality I don't drive hard enough to notice, but grip feels good in the dry going round corners and fine in the wet although I am always a lot more cautious especially if there's standing water at speed to avoid any scary moments! Noise-wise it's nigh-on impossible to tell any difference to be honest! Only done about 2k (miles) so far and tread looks almost like new so hoping they last - also working on the assumption that they may outlive the car! Good value in my opinion :)

Softish tyre so good cornering grip in dry, always careful in wet conditions as it is rear wheel drive and there would be tendency to lose the rear end if driven harsh in wet conditions.

205/55 R16 tyres

The first number in the description represents width, expressed in millimetres, calculated by measuring the greatest distance from flank to flank. Before this measurement can be taken, the tyre must be mounted onto the rim, and should not bear any weight during the process. In the case of the 205/55 R15, cross section width is 205 mm. Small, tolerable variations may occur during the production process, therefore actual width may vary slightly for individual tyres. For this reason, standard sizes are separated by 10 mm intervals.

Using width to determine height

Following the width indicator, the second number specifies the aspect ratio, being in fact a percentual value. Are you unsure of what this represents? Aspect ratio is simply a measure of cross section height, in relation to width. Therefore, the exact flank height remains to be determined. In the case of the 205/55 R16, the flank height is equal to 55% of 205 mm. Thus, the tyre has a cross section height of 112.75 mm. Tyres that display a value smaller than 50% are referred to as low aspect ratio tyres, while an aspect ratio of 80% is considered high.

Buy a complete wheel and tyre set, or recognise the suitable rim

The third number in the description specifies the tyre's inner diameter, a mandatory inscription that appears not only on the sidewall, but also in the registration certificate. This makes clear what size of tyre is suitable for use with a certain type of vehicle. To be certain of what the correct rim size for any tyre is, we must look at the final number in the description – it indicates the tyre's inner diameter and, equally, the overall rim diameter, expressed in inches. Of course, you can purchase complete wheel and tyre sets, and you need not worry about matching rims and tyres any longer.
