Comment:
These replaced the OEM ContiProContact tires on my 2013 Volvo front-drive S60 sedan. The old tires only had 17k on them, but one was damaged during a flat repair, and my retailer offered me two new tires plus $130 rebate on the remaining two...I couldn't resist. I have noticed the following: these tires ride more smoothly than the Continentals, seemingly better able to absorb bumps and holes. They are very slightly noisier, but that may be because I've only driven them about 1,500 miles. Dry performance is as good as or better than the Continentals, though the back-end of the car has just a bit more “lean” when cornering sharply (tires are at 36psi). It feels like the tires are a little more flexible laterally than the Continentals. I am not sure if it’s that, or if they’re losing adhesion with the road a little (though there’s not much weight back there in a front-drive small sedan). The front grips very well though. In my experience, wet performance is as good as or better than the Continentals. It is really quite good. Light snow performance (usually about all we get in El Paso) is surprisingly good. I'm not quite sure why a few others feel differently...perhaps things change as they wear. Luckily, I haven't had to try them out on ice. Overall, I am very pleased. Nice to see they'll wear longer than the OEM's too. Note: my vehicle came with higher load index Continental tires (97). Despite what my salesman wanted me to consider, I felt it important to replace them with similar-capacity tires, which I did.
