No grip on snow or ice whatsoever. If you have stopped on snow and tried to move all you get is wheel spin and a car that's sliding everywhere. On 90-degree road bends even at very slow speeds the car slides away from the turn. Talking about stopping power - it is not existent. On level roads, it takes a lot of distance to stop but if you're going downhill in very slippery conditions had an experience where it took about 100-150m to stop. Can't even fathom how these tires passed safety regulations. If you value your safety and your car DO NOT BUY!

21.09.2025 from John
I bought these tyres as wanted a budget sport tyre for our recently purchased vauxhall Insignia, so got a pair from Oponeo. They sent Sport 2's which are a Chinese made model. Have been generally happy with these as been on some long & many short trips in last year. They have given confidence inspiring performance through all weathers & never given me reason to regret buying them. They wear well too as still lots of tread left. Recommended...
23.08.2022 from Callam
Good grip on a dry warm day , Starts excessive oversteer in the wet, and they are almost down to the treadwear indicator in just under 3 k miles . Easily looses traction under acceleration in the wet

These tyres were absolutely poor on my BMW. The car felt like alignment was off and the car had no stability, going above 60mph was a very scary experience. I removed them and put back my old continentals with 1mm tread and tested because people claimed my alignment was off, but no, it was these tyres they are terrible - nankang ns20. I removed and sold and bought a pair of pirelli p zero

Fitted to a 140bhp front whee drive car. Taking into account these are a budget tyre, grip in the dry is good and spirited driving can be accommodated safely. Tyre in the wet is good but no tyre is safe on the limit in the wet. Because of my low mileage I cannot comment on the rate of wear but must be realistic, after all it is a budget product.
26.02.2021 from David Finlay
I was sceptical about the quality of these Nankang tyres, when I bought them I was influenced by the price, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the grip level both in the dry and wet. I like to drive quickly but not dangerously and I have felt when the tyres have been close to their limit, which is a big plus point. My only complaint would be they do tend to follow tracks in the road, but they are quite wide.
13.12.2020 from Andrew Williams
For the price I think you will struggle to find a better tyre.

16.08.2024 from Jan Olsen
My size tire was not available on the site, it's 21" and not 18". My experience is maybe unique to Tesla cars, but it has only 1-2mm left after 17000 km. With Hankook and Pirelli, I've gotten better milage... The tire can suddenly lose grip in aqua planing conditions, which I did experience once on the highway - and not with any other tire. But maybe all tires would have this issue under the same conditions. My main issue is that the tire wears our very quickly especially on the rim area, making tires wear out prematurely and they easily puncture if not detected (can see white threads, but not visible easily if on the inner rim). Some of this is likely due to Tesla ABS system activating easily in sharp curves, as I have not experienced these issues with other car brands. Both model 3 and model S have this issue. These tires I need to replace quicker than 17000 km as one of tires has just approx 1mm thread.
07.06.2024 from Malcolm McKay
I chose the Pilot Sport 5s for my car for 6000 miles of arduous driving, leading a classic car rally around all of Greece. We were heavily laden and driving hard on very mixed surfaces. The Pilot Sports never let us down and showed impressive grip throughout. Even better, 10,000km later they have worn remarkably little, and very evenly. The sister car was on Toyos which admittedly are cheaper, but showed a LOT more wear.
22.08.2022 from Justin
Size = 255/40/19. I had the Pilot sport 4 on the front, went for the PS5 on the back as they were just available and they were great. I would definitely go for them again but I just changed my car and it looks like Michelin do not support the new size tyres (305/30/ZR21) but I will keep checking Michelin.

they grip slighty less in wet than Goodyear F1 but nothing to worry.. and they lasted 60000kms with a bit drop of wet performance at the end (and even at the end they outperform other tires in wet i had like Yokohama A539)

I don't drive the car hard but even so these tyres have lasted a long time with even wear and still at least 4mm left after 15k. I would prefer more comfort but this is probably due to the 18 inch wheels and not the tyres. They do tramline a bit but I cannot compare to any other brand.
30.11.2011 from Keith Farrow
capable, but for the price there are far better tyres out there. Had PS2's and Conti's before, both gave much sharper handling. The P Zeros seem to wander, and tramline a lot.

25.09.2010 from Alex315
First 15.000 kms tyre is fine, good grip on dry, very good comfort. grip in snow is worthless. braking in wet conditions deteriorates fast after 15.000 kms. at 30.000 kms (and this is for the second time) all 4 tyres (I have FWD, and did not swap front/after) are deformed. driving between 90kmh and 140kmh gives knocking sound. Drinving 105-110kmh makes car shake. Pirelli already changed me 4 tyres and I got 2 for free because of this problem. Now I'm 32.000kms futher and it's the same problem all over again. I am not a sporty driver, and it's too bad I did not know this site earlier. I would never hace let pirelli put me 4 new tyres. Even at 2 for free it's expensive per km.
